The Diary | :: Once Upon A Time ::

As I was helping my mom pack our stuff for the final shift, I found boxes of my old stuff in the cupboard, in my old bedroom. Stacks of letters (and love letters, ahem), postcards, stamp collections, old school assignments, old photographs and old stuffs were inside the boxes : but the one item that caught my attention were the old diaries that I kept along the years – my teenage years.

Upon unfolding the pages, old memories come flashing back to the good ole days of being a young schoolgirl, helplessly in love.

One particular entry dated April 7, 1995 brought a smile to my tired face.

” Sports Day at SMK Kunak. I was there too. With whom? Uii.. of course with my dearest “A”.

We sat separately from the rest of the viewers. Syoklaa.. stroy-story with him, joked with him. But the sad part was when he told me he’s thinking of getting a job in Lahad Datu. I was so worried.. I don’t wanna lose him! I’m afraid that he might have a change of heart if he’s far away from me… “

Wow. I can’t believe how sappy and lame I was. Ha! Ha! Ha!

***** (am experiencing a blank state of mind at this moment. probably the memory of me and him is clotting the blood flow in my brain.) *****

Anyway, that was an old chapter of my life. As much as I wish to experience it all over again, I know I could never turn back the hands of time. But I’m glad I’ve recorded every single event that happened during my teenager life, no matter how lame it was written. The diaries will be one of my few most prized possessions. Perhaps someday, I will share them with my future generations – or rather donate them to the museum and become the next Anne Frank‘s diary in many, many years to come. LOL!!

* He didn’t get that job in Lahad Datu. He got an offer in Tawau instead. The change of heart didn’t happened. The relationship lasts through 8 years..

I used to writing a diary too when I was a kid. But notice that we haven’t left this practical tool yet and that we keep writing a diary nowadays! (ok this is online, more cool and fashion haha!)

omg cin!! i dont think i can open up my old diaries and read them back again! they give me the heebie-jeebies! hahaha! but yeah, old memories on a piece of paper can really bring back our sentimental side.

Hahahah..i use to have one too last time tapi never simpan sayang kan? Never thought to simpan lama lama ba that time. Hehehe..if not boleh juga sia mengkenang kan kisah lalu sekarang LOL!

thats the only thing that can help you remember the past when you are old and wrinkled…hehe…ive thrown most of my early diaries cos i got fedup my dad kept reading it while i was away studying. LOL!

waaa Cindy, i duno pula you’re the jiwang type… heehe jk. but that is past tense kan. and ya 8 years is a long time owh… both of you were very loyal ;B i used to keep diaries, but somehow i know something (because no one confessed they read it)… now i keep them diaries in notebook… busy-body proof! ;P

I just threw away more than of my old diaries last month lah.

I kept them since I was in Form 3 and it was detail, seriously funny for me to read now, lame as you said…and after a final browse, I decided that as much as I wanted to keep them for rememberance sake and flatter myself that my next generation will be entertained with my doings and thoughts, I realized that they would probably be more shocked and amused than anything else – and how to explain myself then?? LOL

hehehe.. i still keep my old diary too… LoL… all those liang2 amoi only..

Isn’t that one of the funniest parts about diaries?? I’ve read diary entries that I wrote about other guys before I even met Dennis. It’s very funny that I thought the world was going to end over some of those things! But it’s good to see how we’ve grown, right? (SOO GLAD YOU ARE BACK, BTW!)

I used to have a diary until my 2nd bro read it and teased me like hell..that day, i burned all my diaries and never jot anything about my life sudah..hehehe punya lah kurang asam i tell you..

Lasts through 8 years.. lasts… present tense … so still going strong? Hehehe

I tried writing diaries, but always ended up tearing then tearing them away.. Don’t want my cousins or anybody else to know my utmost “secret” emotions LOL

Would you believe, even I had a diary that I used to write in without fail everyday? I’ll bet if I looked back at it, it’ll probably contain long winded jottings just like my blog … LOL!

i think my old diaries have been thrown out when we migrated 10 years ago thank goodness anyway cause i wrote some pretty embarrassing stuff in them. haha

I used to write diaries, but dont have that kind of stuff la.

Mostly about who I punch today, why the hell the school have to execute the short hair rule, and some other things.

I hope someone stole my diary will turn it into a movie lah.

I think us girls were all way too sappy back in the day, but I didn’t expect Nick to have a diary too! Hahaha So kelakar!

Wow.. 8 years.. I haven’t even been with the hubby that long yet. LOL! Anyways, I had a notebook where I wrote about my ex-bf.. hahaha.. OMG! So funny and lame! Ketawa sia berabis.. macam I can’t believe that me and the person writing it was the same person. hahaha..
