Le Violin Story

Remember my first violin? Well.. I still have it, I just didn’t master it. Yet. Ha ha ha! I know, I know, it’s been an awful long years and I am still a beginner.

Well last week, we went hunting for my studio table when we spotted a music school with a ‘violin’ as a logo. I instantly thought of my poor old violin and how it could be glorified with a great playing by me, if only I could play that well lah… so I thought, why not sign up for a violin class? ..And then we arrived at the furniture shop and I TOTALLY forgotten all about the class. *sigh*

Maybe I’ll get Bunny to drive me there this Saturday to inquire about their lesson. Maybe sign up for a keyboard lesson as well and try my fingers on those yamaha dgx-505! But then again…. my poor old violin is back in the West, sitting somewhere in the corners of my brother’s condo. LOL

I want a landed house. I am currently living in an apartment which has nice view. But still. I want a landed house. I don’t care if it’s tiny, as long as it has a mini garden where I can plant my flowers and let my dog run free. But will it cost a bomb to get/rent a small landed house? Will it cost more than rv insurance for the monthly rent? Because seriously, I don’t mind packing and moving again if it means that I’ll get to stay on a landed house…

So we’ve finally settled in our new home. I think I kinda like this place. Good air, nice view, very quiet neighbors (and I mean VERY quiet neighbors!) and it’s just a stone-throw to town. Bunny also said that it’s quite close to the place where they sell 10-3. Ha ha ha! (You Sabahans will know what that meant)

The process of ‘beautification’ of the apartment has finally begin, slowly. I’ve asked Bunny to take some shots of the place for the ‘Before and After’ picture later. Once it’s done, I will show you the pictures. He he. Right now, I still need to get A LOT of stuff. I want to have a mini garden, I want to have a composter, I want to have a small reading room.. ai, macam-macam lah! Cuma $$$ saja tiada. LOL

OK, gotta start working on the walls. Paint fun, here I come!

Jobless and miserable

A friend recently asked me, “What is your job?”. I answered, “I used to be a Graphic Designer..”

Yes, I was a Graphic Designer before I quit the job to help a cousin run his business – which has got to do with hospitality and service. But, the satisfaction wasn’t there. It was a lucrative business, but..I was bored. Like really bored. I miss the designing process of a graphic or a blog. I miss having those creativity juices flowing inside my brain. I miss being a Graphic Designer. In fact, I almost got myself a tattoo on my arm of a ‘bar code’ – not the ones that a barcode scanner can scan lah… but just the bar code. Coz I think it’s a graphic and it’s cool. Ha ha!

Now that we’re moving to another state, I hope to God that we’d finally settle in there. I’d get myself a new table and setup a small studio of my own – where I can work on my graphic design purposes. *fingers cross*

Moving. Moving to another town. Another state. Again. Fingers cross that this will be the last time, for gawd sake. And since I gotta pack our stuff here, I had to get my sister’s help to find us a new home. (Renting, of course). Well, she managed to get one nice place: at first, the owner asked for my job title. Then he asked for a copy of my monthly salary. I was like, what the hell for? It’s not like I’m applying for a credit card? And then yesterday, my sister told me that the owner gave us a RM50 discount on the house (which we did NOT ask for, but good lah. Hurray!) but requested us to get a lawyer to draft the agreement, failing which, will be charged RM350 for lawyer’s fee that the owner will provide. Well THAT’S IT! I am asking to rent an APARTMENT, not a whole building! And besides, for the many years I’ve lived and rented other places, NOBODY has ever asked for my monthly salary slip AND a lawyer to draft the agreement! Isn’t that the job of the owner himself???? What next, Web-Est.com collision estimating from my side???

I told my sister that the next time the owner calls her up, just tell him We’re no longer interested. Cis. Punya lah susah mau rent just an apartment? As if an exclusive apartment juga….

Oh well, guess we’ll have to look for another place. *sigh*

No-ending packing

So while the man went to play pool with his friend, I was with the friend’s wife window shopping last night. Still not too many Christmas things to see at the mall, although I silently wish that they have A LOT so I could do an early Christmas shopping. It’s gonna be a budget Christmas this year since we’re moving to another state next month. So much money to spend on the movers!! It would be great if someone would actually send me some Phoenix Flowers as a goodbye gift or a welcoming gift for my new home soon. Ha ha!

And oh.. I intend to bring the stray cats that we saved a few months along. Didn’t have the heart to leave behind those cute things.. especially the little ones who complains a lot! LOL

In the meantime, I’m gonna be busy. So busy packing and selling stuff blablabla…

There comes a time..

Today will be my last day at work.. and to say that I don’t feel a thing about it, it would be a lie. There is this mixed feelings I have. Happy that I could finally gain some life, but totally sad at the thought that I am leaving behind my colleagues who eventually end up being my real friends. Yes, friends. It is hard to get your colleagues to be your real friends, good friends. They were always there when I needed someone to talk to, they were also there when I needed a hand. Heck, they were willing to spend their weekends going to the movies with me even tho the movie I chose was not their cup of tea!

But I guess everything must come to an end. I guess my working life would end today. I guess I’ll be back doing work from home once again. Or maybe not. Ever since I got this job, I have been gone from my other social life. I hardly spoke to my parents on the phone, I don’t get to see my brother quite often.. and I hardly ever spoke to God… So I guess now would be the best time to reflect on myself, taking all the time to meditate, Yoga and of course, pray. Since we’re moving to another state in about a couple of months, I probably will only be hunting for a job by next year. *fingers cross* In the meantime, if you’d like to send a gift of sympathy to me (LOL), by all means, please do! Ha ha ha!

So we’ve finally settled down in this yet, another new home. An old house but a new place for us. We still have a few boxes of stuff to unpack, but at least the bedroom has been setup – and it’s kinda cute! Lots of pink lights, lots of pink stuff.. even the bedsheets are of pink polka dot. Ha ha ha!

We even finished setting up a bedroom for the kitten and his mother. New bedsheets and a private playroom. I guess the next thing we’re gonna setup for them is a tornado shelter, since it’s been raining heavily this past 4 days.

If you ask me, I kinda like this place. Very spacious room.. the only thing is, the house is so old-fashioned, even the master bedroom doesn’t have an attached bathroom! Grrrrrrr! But it’s ok, we ARE planning to shift to another place again, hopefully soon – we’re still house-hunting actually. This place we’re staying is kind of like.. an emergency shelter. Ha ha

Run for my life!

Bunny and me has started jogging as early as 6 in the morning for the past 3 days – and boy, it’s a good feeling! While we see a few neighbors getting out of their home heading for work, or a few nurses in nurse uniforms walking past us (there’s a private hospital nearby our place), we feel.. somewhat, proud, that we work at night, and that we get to jog as long as we want in the morning without having to worry about being late for work etc.

The only thing is, lepas jogging lapar pulak.. mau makan konon…

I posted on Facebook about how I jogged and almost passed out on the 15 minutes. Lots of commenter gave good and wise advise, some said it’s a good start actually. Only one person suggested getting professional help: in the form of getting Herbalife. Good gawd, is that what it’s called now? A professional help? I have nothing against Herbalife, to start with.. but it peeves me whenever I said something about wanting to shed some weight and that word kept coming up. Herbalife. Yeah well, maybe it’s a good product and all, but if I am really interested on that product, I wouldn’t have to ASK for it. I will BUY them. There is no need to repeat it over and over again in every single conversation we have. -_____- I might as well get those safe diet pills while I’m at it, ya?

Anyway, I still believe that self-control (in food intake) and exercise is still the best professional help one can get. Don’t you agree?
